BREAKING–QCC English Department Scores Huge Victory: President Call Backs Down, Respects Vote

The Advocate has learned that, in a stunning reversal of decision, QCC President Diane Call has backed down from her previously aggressive position and agreed to recognize David Humphries as the chair of the English Department ath Queensborough Community College.   The victory is HUGE on many levels, not least for the principles of academic freedom and shared governance.  It also deals a humiliating blow to the efforts of CUNY administrators to implement the Pathways initiative, and to the advancement of that agenda more broadly.  More details to follow!
